Four dead; more wounded overnight in Philadelphia

Philadelphia Police investigators look over the body of a man they say was killed in a gun battle at Allegheny Avenue and North Spangler Street shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday morning. A second victim was shot multiple times and rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, and two more men were hospitalized in stable condition with foot and ankle wounds, according to police. No arrests were reported.

Police say they received several 911 calls reporting a shootout and arrived to find people running from the chaotic scene — according to a report from 6ABC this morning. NBC10 reports that the reason for the shootings is not yet known and none of the identities of the victims have been released.

The Associated Press is reporting that violence claimed the lives of four people in different parts of the city over a span of several hours overnight.
