Intruders knock before killing man in West Oak Lane home late Monday night

According to philly.com, an 84-year-old father opened the door to the home on the 6700 block of Gratz Street around 11:50 p.m. Then, two bandits forced their way into the home, with at least one of them firing multiple shots at the man’s 43-year old son.

NBC10 identified the victim as Eric Murray, and added that a young woman had asked if she could use the telephone after knocking, but that the killers then shot Murray at least 7 times.

According to 6ABC, the motive is under investigation but police are trying to determine if the suspects were there to rob the home or if their sole purpose was to shoot the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gloria Spaddy, the victim’s aunt, told Action News, “He was a loving father. He had two girls and two or three grandchildren.
