Third teenager shot down in Overbrook this week

Philly.com reports that an 18-year old was shot in the head and chest, and pronounced dead on scene at 3:24 a.m. Thursday morning in the Overbrook sectionof West Philadelphia. Police came upon the wounded young man at the 6600 block of Leeds Street at approximately 3:15 a.m.. They announced that the victim is the stepson of a Philadelphia Police officer, but said nothing of a possible motive.

However, at around 5:00 a.m., police raided a house near 66th and Lebanon Street in Overbrook, and took one person into custody for questioning in connection to the earlier incident, according to 6ABC.  Fox29 reports that police also have a semi-automatic handgun that was used in the shooting.

Along with the deaths of Christopher Malcolm and Rohan “Sonny” Bennett in Overbrook Park, this is the third teenager shot and killed in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia this week.
