Crime scene tape from an afternoon homicide was still strewn across a nearby lawn when police returned to investigate the second incident, according to Philly.com.
6ABC reported that a 29-year-old victim was rushed by police to Temple University Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. A second man, who police say suffered cuts from shattered glass as a result of the shooting, was also taken to Temple.
Police told NBC10 that they men were sitting in a car near Defense Terrace and Berkeley Drive when a gunman approached the vehicle and opened fire hitting a 29-year-old in the head.
Investigators say the men drove to a nearby gas station.
6ABC also reported on the earlier incident where police officers arrived to find a a 33-year-old man shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
