Press release from Heeding God’s Call

Call to Action: Public Witness Against Gun Violence
Sunday, August 26, 2012, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Location: Cliveden Park, Chew and Cliveden Streets, in the East Mt. Airy section of Northwest Philadelphia

We will gather for our Public Witness in the corner of the park at Chew and Cliveden and process 2 blocks to Chew and Sharpnack, the site of a recent gun homicide. We will return to Cliveden Park to complete the Witness and Call to Action.

Sponsored by Neighborhood Partners to End Gun Violence, Heeding God’s Call, First United Methodist Church of Germantown, Christ Church and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church

There have been 222 murders in Philadelphia so far this year.  Three of them have occurred in East Mt. Airy and East Germantown in the last month.  It’s time people of faith stand together with our neighbors to mourn, to pray and to work for change!
