This weekend in Philadelphia: Support your community

A large crowd turned out for last month’s Peace ‘N Philly rally at LOVE Park.

There are several anti-violence community events scheduled around the city this weekend.

Get out to Woodland Plaza at 60th Street this morning and make a human chain at the 2012 Hands for Peace across Southwest Philadelphia and Yeadon.

Then, head over to the First Annual Community Peace Festival, from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. at 715 Cobbs Creek Parkway.

On Sunday, several groups are coming together for a Public Witness against Gun Violence, meeting at Cliveden Park at Chew and Cliveden Streets in Mount Airy at 3:30 p.m., and proceeding two block to the scene of a recent homicide.
