A silent motorcade lead a hearse carrying the casket of Police officer Moses Walker, Jr., to Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia Sunday afternoon.
Officers transferred the flag-draped casket to a horse-drawn caisson for a procession to Deliverance Evangelistic Church, about a mile away, as neighbors lined the route.
Walker was shot to death after leaving work eight days earlier, during an apparent robbery. He was the fourth Philadelphia Police officer to be killed off duty this year, and was the third person shot to death in Philadelphia during that overnight.
After attending the viewing at the church, police officials announced that the second of two suspects sought in connection with the murder had just been taken into custody in Alabama.
Officer walker will be laid to rest Monday morning.
