Neighbors gather to pray after two teenage brothers were shot to death in Philadelphia last month. Photos by Tom Kelly IV for GunCrisis.org.

Our report on more than 100 Philadelphia shooting victims over a recent four-week period showed the average age of the victim was 28, and data from thousands of homicides in the city over a 23-year period shows that most were in their young twenties.

Still, we find teenage shooting victims almost everyday in news reports from across the US. We came across these stories while searching for information after a Maryland high school student was shot to death on the first day of school Monday .
