Police wound suspect, recover weapon after armed robbery report in Frankford overnight

Investigators examine a handgun and other evidence found at the crime scene after police opened fire and wounded an armed robbery suspect in the Frankford section of Philadelphia early Sunday morning. Photos for the GunCrisis Reporting Project by Joseph Kaczmarek.

Police officers from the 15th district were flagged down by a robbery victim near Frankford Avenue and Pratt Street just after 3 a.m. According to police, officers opened fire when a man matching the description of one of the suspects brandished a gun on nearby Granite Street.

6ABC says that two officers discharged their weapons, wounding a male suspect in the arm, and then took another man and woman into custody.
