#GunCrisis: Philadelphia shooting homicide updates

Police now believe they know who shot and killed Alisha Canty, a mother of five earlier this week, according to NBC10. Canty’s five-year-old daughter was also wounded.

A 23-year-old man was shot to death and another man was wounded Wednesday afternoon near South 63rd and Catherine streets in the Cobbs Creek section of the city, according to CBS3.

Another man was shot and killed during a robbery while returning home to the 1200 block of South Millick Street in West Philadelphia Wednesday night, according to philly.com.

Update: Police have now identified the men killed Wednesday as Stephen Casey, 23, and Maurice Thomas, 28, according to philly.com.

Across the Delaware River, in Camden, NJ, four gun incidents in 10 hours have raised the annual homicide count to 48 in the small city of 77,000 people.

In nearby Wilmington, DE, a 16-year-old boy was critically wounded in a shooting Wednesday night, according to 6ABC.

This morning, a 22-year-old man was listed in critical condition after he was shot in the head in Feltonville section of Philadelphia, according to police sources.
