Communicating with the GunCrisis Reporting Project — and with each other

We strive to listen as much as we talk at the GunCrisis Reporting Project, and there are a number of ways for you to connect with us — and with each other.

We tweet local gun violence news reports and more @guncrisisnews and chime in on related national issues and events at @guncrisisUS. We follow and respond to @-replies at both of these addresses every day.

You can join the conversation on local gun violence incidents by using the #guncrisis hashtag and then follow the conversation on Twitter. Results will also be published on our site, and the most recent tweet that has been tagged with #guncrisis will be displayed across the top of our site — until it is replaced with the next.

Next, please participate in our new solutions initiative by tagging your ideas to end violence with #phillypeaceplan. Here is how it works: http://guncrisis.org/phillypeaceplan/

We also share and listen at facebook.com/GunCrisis and on Google+, and share videos on YouTube.

If you are an iPhone user, you can get all the updates in the #GunCrisis App.

You can email us at info@guncrisis.org or leave a voice mail at (215) 882-9867. We do our best to respond on the same day but the workload can be difficult at times for our small volunteer staff, especially live events or when we get a flurry of media attention.

There are lots of ways to subscribe to our  RSS feeds, but you can also just leave your address in the form on our home page to get every post delivered in your email.

We also have a live chat window near the bottom of the right column. Log in with your Twitter ID or click or click “Guest” to participate anonymously. You can also send us a private message through the form just below.

Please join the conversation, let us know what you think about our services, and share your ideas on how we can bring an end to gun violence in Philadelphia.

(NOTE: We occasionally take over the top of the site for breaking news but return to the #guncrisis tweets when incident reporting is complete.)
