At about 6:30 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot at Manheim and Keyser Streets in the Germantown section of the city. He was reported in critical condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Shortly before 9 p.m., another man arrived at Einstein with a gunshot wound to the foot, which police later determined to be self-inflicted.
Shortly after 9, two more men were shot at 54th and Ludlow Streets in West Philadelphia. One was pronounced dead on the scene by medics and the second was reported in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Someone opened fire on their car, according to 6ABC. Police said they found spent shell casings inside the car, according to philly.com, leading them to believe that the shooter was inside the vehicle with his victims.
Another man was hospitalized in stable condition after he was shot in the back on the 5900 block of Irving Street in West Philadelphia.
Two more people were shot in separate incidents just before midnight, one fatally.
A 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital after he was shot multiple times on the 1700 block of North 24th Street in North Philadelphia. Police captured a suspect nearby, according to philly.com.
A 29-year-old man was reported in stable condition after he was shot once in the leg on the 6300 block of Mershon Street in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. According to philly.com, the victim was with his girlfriend and their two-year-old baby at the time.
6ABC reports that a man tried to steal the women’s purse off her shoulder when her boyfriend intervened and was shot in the leg.
The victim was transported to Aria-Torresdale Medical Center where he is in stable condition, according to NBC10.
Just before 2 a.m., a 61-year-old woman was shot in the head on the 5300 block of Charles Street in the Frankford section of the city. According to 6ABC, the woman was lying in bed when a bullet entered through a wall after it was fired during a robbery outside.
Investigators said the bed was covered in the woman’s blood, but that it appeared the bullet had slowed down enough by the time it hit her that it didn’t hurt her as badly as it could have, according to philly.com.
NBC10 is reporting that the suspects were later arrested near Bridge Street, and that police say they found evidence from at least four other robberies that occurred late Thursday night and Friday morning.
