Colleagues honor

The GunCrisis Reporting Project was founded to raise awareness and discover solutions in order to reduce gun violence in Philadelphia, but we look to accolades as evidence that we are performing at the highest levels of independent journalism, and we were recognized again this month.

Earlier last week, Melody Kramer noted our project in a post on Spark Camp’s “big ideas to watch” in 2013.


Joseph Kaczmarek and Tom Kelly IV were award-winning photojournalists long before they joined the GunCrisis Reporting Project, and Kelly had already put us on the map with our first award from the National Press Photographers Association, but more of their recent work from has been honored by the NPPA, including a first place award for Kaczmarek.
