Temple University student among first homicide victims of 2013 in Philadelphia

Philadelphia Police have identified him as Jaymire Rustin, according to philly.com. Tyjuan Shields, 24, and Stephen Johnson, 23 were also shot and killed during separate incidents before dawn Tuesday.

According to phillypolice.com, Philadelphia’s 2012 homicide total reached 331, the highest since 2008.

UPDATE: A Temple University student was among those killed Tuesday.
