Saturday: Considering Harm exhibit opens in Philadelphia

We featured Flynn’s work on one of our earliest posts, not long after launching the GunCrisis Reporting Project last spring.

Considering Harm is a body of 29 mixed media pieces by artist Pamela Flynn, and is traveling to US cities to bring awareness to the harm gun violence brings to individuals and to communities.

The opening reception is scheduled for Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the Seed on Diamond Gallery, at 124 Diamond Street in Philadelphia. The show runs through January 30th.

Flynn will be donating a percentage of proceeds from the sale of the artwork to CeaseFirePa Education Fund, and Flynn and representatives from CeaseFirePa will be at the opening.

According to a press release, each work is exhibited with text that refers to an incident involving gun violence in Philadelphia. The combined impact of the work and text creates an atmosphere of contemplative tension, and the viewer is forced to consider harm.
