Two men are dead following overnight gunfire in Philadelphia; elderly man wounded Sunday in home invasion

Crime scene at Carlisle and OgdenOfficers arrived to find the victim – a man in his 40s – with a gunshot wound to the jaw, according to 6ABC. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CBS3, adding that no arrests were made.

Early Monday morning, a 22-year-old man was shot to death inside a home on the 900 block of South Conestoga Street in the Kingsessing section of Southwest Philadelphia.

Police arrived to the home and found the man face down in the living room with a gunshot wound to his head, according to 6ABC. According to philly.com, police said that the shooting happened after a 22-year-old man was arguing with another man inside the residence.

On Sunday afternoon, a 68-year-old man was grazed by a gunshot during an attempted home invasion robbery on Garland Street in the Cresecentville section of the city.

Police say a man between his late 20’s and early 30’s knocked at the door and forced his way inside when the 68-year-old homeowner opened the door, according to NBC10, adding that the two men began to scuffle and shots were fired, according to investigators.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to 6ABC, and the victim was treated and released from Einstein Medical Center, according to CBS3.
