According to police, officers confronted a man that they noticed exiting a property on Lebanon Avenue near 56th Street when the suspect fired four times. Both officers returned fire.
Police said the officers were in the area for a report of burglaries in the neighborhood, according to philly.com.
NBC10 added that the wounded suspect was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead. There were no injuries to the police officers, according to 6ABC.
