Police said they responded to a call for a shooting and car accident at about 1 a.m., and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Officials say an unidentified man and a male passenger were driving along when someone open fired on them, causing the van they were in to crash into several parked cars, according to 6ABC.

According to police, the passenger was uninjured. Several grieving relatives assembled nearby as police investigated.

In earlier overnight incidents, police fatally wounded a man they say fired on officers in Overbrook — and one reported gunman was wounded by another in Eastwick.

Three men were reported in stable condition after three separate shooting incidents across Philadelphia Thursday afternoon; at A Street and Wyoming Avenue in Feltonville, on Tulip Street in Frankford and in the 2nd and Stella Streets in Fairhill.
