Armed suspect takes his own life after police standoff at sporting goods store in Bucks County, PA

Kaczmarek 2rThe incident began around 7:30 p.m. when, according to police, a man walked in and asked to see a shotgun, but then brandished a revolver and took the weapons and ammunition into a rest room.

The store and nearby businesses were evacuated during the four-hour-long standoff, according to an Associated Press report, adding that the gunman did not take any hostages.

Shortly before midnight, police announced that the gunman shot and killed himself, according to NBC10. They have not yet revealed the man’s identity.

Police searched the store with a robot, according to a report from 6ABC, adding that Falls Township Police said the suspect had a history with law enforcement, including a 2002 standoff in Middletown, PA.
