Introducing the Gun Crisis: Philadelphia Community Events Calendar

Throughout the past year at the Gun Crisis Reporting Project, we have discovered a broad spectrum of community, grassroots and government organizations holding gun violence prevention events across our region.

Unfortunately, we sometimes run across conflicting or redundant events, making it impossible to cover as many as we would like. And we imagine that some of you have had similar experiences.

In response, we have now launched the Gun Crisis: Philadelphia Community Events Calendar as a one-stop resource for anyone who wants to get more involved in gun violence prevention, promote their own events, or just stay informed on what’s happening in the region.

You can view the latest updates on the sidebar of our home page, or at guncrisis.org/calendar.

Now, you can submit your events using guncrisis.org/calendar-submissions.

Next, you may be hearing from Caroline Batten, a Swarthmore College student who is now working as our community coordinator, as she begins reaching out to some of the groups we have identified in the local network of violence prevention organizations. You can reach Caroline directly at community@guncrisis.org.

Please let us know about your events, tell us how the calendar is working and suggest other services you would like to see us provide at GunCrisis.org.
