Photos from the scene: Man killed in police-involved shooting Thursday night

Crime scene investigators gather evidence after Philadelphia Police officers shot a man they report had pointed a gun at them in the area of 71st Street and Paschall Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia at about 9 p.m. Thursday. Photographs for the Gun Crisis Reporting Project by Tom Kelly IV.

Officials told the Philadelphia Inquirer that officers were chasing the 21-year-old man when he pulled a loaded 9mm Ruger from his waistband and aimed in their direction. The suspect was pronounced dead at at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania a short time later.

No police officers were injured during the incident, according to CBS3NBC10 added that Internal Affairs officials are reviewing the case.
