Three killed, nine wounded in weekend shooting incidents reported across Philadelphia


Three men were killed and nine more were wounded in 11 weekend shooting incidents reported across Philadelphia. Three of the wounded men were reported in critical or guarded condition at area hospitals and the remainder were reported in stable condition.

A 22-year-old man was shot to death on Jefferson Street near 27th in North Philadelphia Friday night. Police said the victim was on a dirt bike when a gunman inside a car drove by and opened fire, striking the man in the chest, according to NBC10. A 16-year-old was reported in stable condition after he was shot in the leg on the 200 block of South Cecil Street in West Philadelphia at about 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Medics rushed a 23-year-old man to Einstein Medical Center, where he was listed in guarded condition after he was shot twice in the area of East Mt. Pleasant and Williams Avenues in East Mount Airy at about 9 p.m. Friday.

Police found a man shot to death on Hazelhurst Street in the Wynnefield section of the city at about midnight. Police say the victim was approached by three men and shot several times, according to 6ABC.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, a 27-year old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the 5100 block of North 2nd Street in Olney and later reported in critical condition at Einstein Medical Center.

Both victims were reported in stable condition after two men were shot on North Dover Street near Jefferson late Saturday morning in Brewerytown. This incident took place less than two blocks from the scene of a fatal shooting on Friday night.

A 27-year-old man was reported in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after he was shot multiple times at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of 53rd and Market Streets in West Philadelphia.

Medics rushed a 46-year-old man to Einstein Medical Center, where he was reported in critical condition after he was shot in the chest shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday in the area of Rising Sun Avenue and Front Street in the Feltonville section of the city.

A 24-year-old man was reported in stable condition at Temple University Hospital’s Episcopal campus after he was shot on West Tusculum Street near Front Street in Fairhill Sunday night.

Police rushed a 27-year-old man to Episcopal after he was shot in the hip Sunday night on East Indiana Avenue near Front Street in Kensington, but also very close to the Tusculum scene.

Finally, a 51-year-old man was shot to death on the 2900 block of Hartville Street in Kensington shortly after 1 a.m. Monday. According to 6ABC, police believe robbery was the motive.
