According to police, the victim was shot twice in the chest Sunday afternoon and made his way to 8th and Poplar Streets, where he collapsed. Medics rushed him to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was declared dead a shot time later.
The playground is just across the street from the Philadelphia Police Department’s Forensic Science Building, which houses the Crime Scene Unit.
