UPDATE: SUSPECT IN CUSTODY Local media reports now say that 23-year-old Thomas Coffee of Willow Grove, Pa., has been charged with murder and weapons offenses in connection with this incident: Philadelphia Inquirer • CBS3 • NBC10
According to police, the 27-year-old man was shot once in the head and once in the leg late Friday night in a driveway behind nearby Hollis Street.
The victim then ran about 100 feet to where he collapsed in the street by the corner of East Walnut Lane and Hollis, near a car occupied by the man’s wife and a male friend, police said. Medics pronounced him dead on the scene just before 11:30.

Five more men were wounded in separate shooting incidents reported from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning: Police rushed an 18-year-old man to Jefferson University Hospital late Friday afternoon, after he was shot in the leg in the area of South 5th and McClellan Streets in the Southwark section of South Philadelphia.
A 25-year-old man was shot three times in the area of 11th and Huntingdon Streets in the Hartranft section of North philadelphia Friday afternoon, and reported in stable condition at Temple University Hospital. On Wednesday afternoon, three people were shot just two blocks away. Police rushed a 31-year-old man to Temple University Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition after he was shot several times in the area of H and East Russell Streets on the Harrowgate section of the city at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
A 19-year-old man was reported in critical condition at Einstein Medical Center after he was shot multiple times in the area of Godfrey Avenue and 10th Street shortly after 3 a.m. And a 48-year-old man was repotted critical at Temple after he was shot in the back on Tioga Street near 10th Street at about 5:15 a.m. Saturday.
At the Gun Crisis Reporting Project, we have now tracked 69 shooting victims reported across Philadelphia so far in June. At least ten people have died and eight more were initially reported in critical condition, including three women and two teens.
