Rising Sun & Germantown crime sceneAccording to investigators, an 18-year-old man was shot once in the abdomen shortly before 1 a.m. on the 2100 block of North 8th Street in the Hartranft section of the city.

The victim’s brother was rushing the wounded man to Temple University Hospital when their car ran out of gas outside a busy night club at the intersection of Germantown and Rising Sun Avenues.

They flagged down a taxi to take them the rest of the way. Police said the victim was listed in critical condition.
