According to police, officers found the 30-year-old victim at around 9 p.m. when they responded to numerous 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area of Orthodox Street and Torresdale Avenue. Medics rushed the wounded man to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was reported in critical condition, police said.
Police found one handgun near the victim and another under a van that parked nearby, as well as 19 pieces of ballistic evidence.

As we previously reported, another 32-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting incidents just a few steps away last March.
Eleven people were shot between Friday morning and early Sunday in Philadelphia, but almost 36 hours passed without another victim report. Shortly after noon Monday, medics rushed a 19-year-old man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was reported in stable condition with a leg wound following a shooting incident in the area of 23rd and Federal Streets in South Philadelphia.
Overall, Philadelphia Police data show a 42 percent decline in Philadelphia homicides this year, when compared to 2012, according to a recent analysis from phillytrib.com.
Police are also investigating a West Philadelphia home invasion, according to 6ABC, which is reporting that officers were called to the report of three armed men breaking into an apartment just before 1 a.m. on Locust Street near 54th Street.
Across the region, police in Norristown, Pa., have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old in August, according to timesherald.com, and pennlive.com is reporting that police in Harrisburg, Pa., are looking for tips after a shooting incident wounded a man and a woman last week.
Prosecutors have identified a man they have in custody as the shooter in deadly home invasion robbery last month in Trenton, NJ, according to a report from nj.com, and 6ABC reported that four people were recovering from gunshot wounds following a violent outbreak Sunday in Wilmington, De.
