Shooting leaves man critically wounded early Friday in West Philadelphia

5200 Chestnut ShootingAccording to police, 18th District officers were walking a beat when they heard gunshots and responded to find the victim slumped over a bicycle and bleeding heavily on Chestnut Street near 53rd Street.

Police rushed the victim to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was reported in critical condition, according to 6ABC. CBS3 reported that no suspects were taken into custody at the scene.

Two more men were shot in separate overnight incidents, and we will have further reports throughout the day. Thirty people have been shot in Philadelphia over the last seven days.
