They found a man — estimated to be in his 20s — inside the car with multiple gunshot wounds, according to investigators. Responding paramedics pronounced the victim dead that the scene.
Police found at least eleven fired shell casings of two different calibers, inside and around the car, investigators said. FOX 29 has a brief video report from the scene.
Police in the same district found another man shot to death inside a car one night earlier, on Ross Street, near East Hortter and Musgrave Streets.
In the latest incident, police rushed a 52-year-old man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was reported in critical condition after he was shot at about 2 a.m. Wednesday on Castle Avenue, near Broad and Morris Streets in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia.
The latest reports bring totals to four dead and eight wounded, four critically, in Philadelphia shooting incidents reported since Sunday evening.
