Four men shot:Police rushed a 22-year-old man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was reported in extremely critical condition early Tuesday after he was shot in the head on South 17th Street near Dickinson Street in the Point Breeze section of Philadelphia shortly after midnight.
UPDATE: The South 17th Street victim has died and has been identified by police as nearby resident William McCutchen, 22, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
Police said the victim was standing outside his house talking and talking on a cell phone when he was shot at least eight times with a semi-automatic handgun, based upon ballistic evidence found within feet of the victim. One round went through a first floor window and lodged in a chair where the victim's father was seated, police said. 6ABC and Fox29 also had reports.
An 18-year-old man was wounded in a shooting around 11:30 p.m. Monday at Rosehill and Somerset Streets in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. Investigators said he was in critical condition at Temple University Hospital, according to NBC10.
Medics rushed a 29-year-old man to HUP after he was shot in the leg around midnight on South 64th Street near Greenway Avenue in the Mount Moriah section of Southwest Philadelphia.
Earlier Monday night, a 51-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by medics after he was shot on Florence Avenue near South 56th Street in Kingessing. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that he was found in an upstairs bedroom.

National news:In Chicago, shootings have wound 12 people between Monday afternoon and Tuesday Morning, according to nbcchicago.com. Two people were shot to death Monday near the Michigan State campus, according to The Associated Press.
