Champlost Police Discharge

Police investigate the crime scene on Champlost Street near Mascher Street in the Olney section of Philadelphia, Wednesday June 25, 2014, after officers wounded a man police said pointed a handgun at officers. According to police at 9:21 p.m. patrol officers in the 35th District pulled over an SUV on Champlost Street and asked the driver, a 55-year-old man, to step out of the SUV and when police began to frisk the man he pushed away from the two officers and drew a semi automatic handgun and according to police possibly fired one or two shots as the officers drew their weapons and opened fire striking the man at least three times. Police said paramedics transported the man to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.
