Two men critically wounded Monday evening in Point Breeze

Police officers rushed two men — ages 19 and 22 — to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where both were listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds Monday evening.

The incident took place shortly before 6 p.m. on South Lambert Street, near 21st and Dickinson Streets in the Point Breeze section of South Philadelphia.

Earlier Monday afternoon, a teenage girl was killed and a young man was critically wounded in another shooting, outside Albert Einstein Medical Center in the Logan section of the city, as we reported earlier.

On Sunday, 13 people were shot during nine incidents reported across the city.

As of Monday morning, Philadelphia Police reported 182 homicides in the city so far during 2014, seven more than had been reported by the same date last year.
