Woman killed while walking her dog Saturday night

A 42-year-old woman was shot in the head and in the thigh while around 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Morse Street near 33rd Street and West Montgomery Avenue in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city. Police rushed the women to Hahnemann University Hospital, where she was listed in extremely critical condition.

Update: The victim was pronounced dead early Sunday morning, according to a report from NBC10: Woman Dies After Shooting in Strawberry Mansion

Update: NBC10 is now identifying the victim as Kathryn Berry, a mother of four.

Updates: Police told 6ABC on Monday that the victim was targeted. A law enforcement source said Berry had been cooperating in a drug investigation, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
