West Philadelphia shooting leaves man critically wounded

Police rushed a shooting victim to the Hospital of the University Of Pennsylvania, where he was listed in critical condition following an incident reported Friday night in the area of South 56th Street and Osage Avenue in West Philadelphia. The victim — estimated to be in his 20s — was struck around 8:45 p.m. 6ABC reports that he was shot in the neck.

Police said the victim had been fighting with another man, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report.

Nearly 48 hours had passed since the last shooting victim reported in the city. A 32-year-old man was shot in the foot during a robbery Wednesday night in Kensington, as we previously reported.
