Man killed Wednesday night in North Philadelphia

A 50-year-old man was fatally wounded in a shooting reported around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on North 19th Street near West Cumberland Street in North Philadelphia.

Police rushed the victim to Temple University Hospital but he had been shot five times and did not survive. The Philadelphia Inquirer and CBS3 also had brief reports.

Updates: Police said that robbery did not appear to be the motive because they found $1,000 on the victim, according to a report from 6ABCNBC10 added that the victim was killed just steps from his home.

Three more men have been killed and 11 more people have been wounded in shootings reported in Philadelphia since Monday morning.
