Man shot in Kingsessing

Police rushed a 22-year-old man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after he was shot around 4:30 p.m. Friday on South Ruby Street near Chester Avenue and South 54th Street in the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia. He was listed in stable condition with thigh and hand wounds.

More than 24 hours had passed since the last shooting victim was reported in the city, when a 31-year-old man was shot Thursday afternoon in Germantown.
