Second man shot Monday in Eastwick; critically wounded

Police rushed a shooting victim to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was listed in critical condition after an incident reported late Monday afternoon near the Patterson Elementary School on Holbrook Street, near Elmwood Avenue and 70th Street in the Eastwick section of Southwest Philadelphia. The victim — estimated to be in his 20s — was struck twice shortly before 5 p.m.

As we reported earlier, an 18-year-old man was shot in the foot just after 1 a.m. Monday on Glenmore Avenue near Island Avenue in Eastwick. Medics rushed him to HUP, where he was listed in stable condition. We have found no media reports addressing either Eastwick incident.

No other shooting victims have been reported in the city since Sunday night incidents left one man dead and a teen wounded. Altogether, two men were killed and ten people were wounded in shootings reported across Philadelphia during the weekend.
