Gun Recovered near Temple Campus

A Philadelphia police officer holds a handgun recovered after a foot pursuit near Temple University’s campus in North Philadelphia on Tuesday June 17, 2014. According to police officers from the 22nd district responded to a person with a gun call in the area of 1600 Fontain Street and went into a foot chase after a man who tossed a gun when he saw police. Officers caught the suspect and placed him in custody and recovered a 9 mm semi automatic handgun police said. As the search for the handgun was taking place with the assistance of a K9 unit numerous Temple University students stood on their front steps watching the police activity.
