Man killed, another wounded in Tuesday morning shootings

Medics pronounced a 47-year-old man dead at the scene after he was shot in the head around 8 a.m. Tuesday in a driveway on South 59th Street near Greenway Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

As we previously reported, two men were wounded — one crticially — in separate shooting incidents reported Monday in the Eastwick section of Southwest Philadelphia.

In the latest incident, a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg shortly before 9 a.m. Monday on Mutter Street, near West Berks and North Hancock Streets in North Philadelphia.

The latest victim is the fourth man wounded since weekend shootings left two men dead and 10 more wounded in Philadelphia.

Three more men wounded in Philadelphia shootings Friday afternoon

Two men were wounded in a shooting incident reported around 4:45 p.m. Friday, in the area of North 22nd Street and Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia.

Police rushed an 18-year-old man to Temple University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition with a leg wound. The second victim, a 19-year-old man, arrived at Temple with an abdominal wound and was also stable.

Earlier Friday afternoon, a 23-year-old man was shot on Cambridge Street, near 42nd Street and Girard Avenue in the Belmont section of West Philadelphia. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to one leg and was rushed by ambulance to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Three more men were shot in Philadelphia between Thursday evening and Friday morning, as we previously reported.

Man killed Wednesday night in North Philadelphia

A 50-year-old man was fatally wounded in a shooting reported around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on North 19th Street near West Cumberland Street in North Philadelphia.

Police rushed the victim to Temple University Hospital but he had been shot five times and did not survive. The Philadelphia Inquirer and CBS3 also had brief reports.

Three more men have been killed and 11 more people have been wounded in shootings reported in Philadelphia since Monday morning.

Man killed, two women wounded in overnight shootings

Two shooting incidents coincidentally took place overnight on the same name narrow street, but three miles and about two hours apart.

A 24-year-old man was fatally wounded in a shooting reported about 11:45 p.m. Monday on North Uber Street, near 19th and Diamond Streets in North Philadelphia. A 46-year-old woman was wounded in the same incident and reported in stable condition at Temple University Hospital.

A 21-year-old woman was listed in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after she was shot in the leg around 2 a.m. Tuesday on North Uber Street, near West Courtland Street and Windram Avenue in the Logan section of the city.

Shooting victims were reported earlier Monday in Fairhill, North Philadelphia and the Castor section of Northeast Philadelphia.
